大坝村处在大坝镇镇区之内，省道236线从村中穿过，位于普宁市区北面约7.9公里处。[1][2]

据百度百科，村子建于清雍正年间后期，由福建迁来的移民聚居而成，原先那片地是大块沙滩，村名由此而来。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年改设大坝大队，1961年析出，自成一个大队。1984年划归大坝区，设大坝乡；1986年划归大坝镇，设大坝村民委员会；1990年设管理区；1999年又改为村民委员会。[1]
