桃园村是惠来县侨园镇的行政村。村名的来历是建村时周边的沙地种满了桃树。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清顺治元年（1644），陈氏族人自福建泉州晋江来此开村。最初住在下坝，因内涝被水浸，才迁离那里，最后在如今的桃园地段定居。[1]

1959年至1960年间，村设大队，隶属溪西公社。1960年起划归大南山侨场管辖，大队之名沿用至1983年；1986年至1995年改为管理区，1995年起称村委会。[1]

荣誉称号[edit]

  • 2019年9月，上榜2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
  • 2022年8月，获「2022年惠来县首批无毒村（社区）」称号。[1]
  • 2023年11月，入选广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村。[1]
  • 2023年12月，被认定为「揭阳市2023年市级森林乡村」。[1]
  • 2024年3月，获命名为2023年「广东省卫生村」。[1]
