北洋村位于石榴潭与尖宫坡水库的下游，距集市约4千米，属隆江镇。村名取自北面连片的田畴。[1]

地名由来[edit]

明初此地已有聚落，因以涂角砌寨而称“涂角寨”。嘉靖年间（1522年至1566年），陈姓人从福建漳州浦县陈岱村迁来定居，见北面多是成片良田，遂改称北洋。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年至1958年办过初、高级社，1958年至1983年为北洋大队，1983年至1986年改设乡政府，1987年至1999年为管理区，1999年之后称北洋村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，北洋村列入2018年「广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。据隆江镇人民政府2025年8月的工作总结，北洋村属镇内「百千万工程」典型村之一。[1][2]
