石洲村位于东陇镇，属革命老区，系纯农业村，村内含石一、石二、排上、排下、西陇五个自然村。村名来自村北龙江河中的一堆大石。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村北靠龙江河，江中有一堆大石，故名“石洲”，当地俗称“蜈蚣珠石”。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明代末期，吴氏从福建泉州城迁来置居。清代中期，林、唐二姓从隆江的孔美村迁入。1956年，惠城镇的移民也来此定居。博雅地名网记载，现村中有唐、郑、陈、林、方、张、吴、李共8姓居民。[1]
1949年至1958年称石洲村，1958年至1960年划归桃园大队，1960年至1979年独立为大队并隶属大南山侨场，1979年变为管理区；1995年10月才定名石洲村委会，沿用至今。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月，石洲村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
