城东社区位于靖海镇中心区，名称取自靖海城南门：社区驻地以南门为标志，居民区在大中街以东，与城西社区相邻。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此处居民最初组建为靖海区居民委员会，年代自1958年起。到1986年11月18日，这一居委会被一分为二，东半部称城东。[1]

之后几度更名：1994年为城东居民管理区，1999年复称城东居委，2002年定名为城东社区居民委员会。[1]

人口[edit]
