龙尾镇是广东省揭阳市揭东区下辖的镇，位于区境西部。东面与白塔镇比邻，西侧挨着揭西县的五经富镇，北侧则与梅州市丰顺县的埔寨镇为邻，处在揭阳、梅州两市与揭东、揭西、丰顺三县的交界地带。[1][4]

镇名的由来，据博雅地名网所载：先民大多自丰顺迁入，群山起伏，状若卧龙，聚落位于龙尾一带，因而得名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代，这片地方归揭阳县霖田都管辖，民国时期则属第三区。1949年10月并入揭阳县卅岭区；1950年一度隶属磐岭区，次年又回到卅岭区。[3]

1958年上半年，镇域先归白塔乡，下半年则与霖磐、桂岭、白塔三地合为磐岭公社。此后曾划入白塔公社，1961年重新设立龙尾公社；1963年再次并入白塔，直到1965年才从白塔分出，恢复龙尾公社。[3]

1983年2月，龙尾公社改为区建制；1986年，龙尾区又改为镇建制；1991年12月，划入揭东县。博雅地名网称龙尾为革命老区镇。[1][3]

地理环境[edit]

镇域面积的记载不一：博雅地名网作56.6平方千米，耕地约13000多亩，山地约35000亩；百度百科作48平方千米。两者均未注明统计年份，并列于此。[2][4]

镇中心区在龙尾社区一带，省道揭陆线与“龙大”公路相交成T字形，横贯镇区，是镇内交通的主干。[1][2]

气候方面，博雅地名网称年降水量在二千毫米以上，月平均气温约22°C，适宜多种农作物生长。[2]

山区出产新丰红毛梨，博雅地名网称其名声远播。新丰村和东湖村的若干山泉，被认为是天然矿泉水。矿产有稀土、瓷土和锡。[2]

据第七次全国人口普查结果，全镇为2.86万人，博雅地名网据此将龙尾镇排在揭东区各街道乡镇人口数量的第13位。[1]

百度百科称2018年户籍人口为39300人。博雅地名网概况栏又作人口34568人，未注明年份。三者的年份与口径各不相同，并列于此。[2][4]

博雅地名网称，旅外华侨、港澳台同胞有一万多人，镇为揭东县重点侨乡之一。[2]

概况所载2005年数字：农业总产值11598万元，工业总产值3.17亿元；上规模企业25家，主导行业为毛织、食品加工与服装。[2]

果园方面，“古山二号”龙眼约9000亩，青榄约6500亩，另有其他传统名果近2000亩；大基地（1000亩以上）有4个，最大一处4000多亩。概况未注明这些面积的年份。[2]

毛织行业发展迅猛，已成为镇内企业的主导行业，有毛织企业20多家，吸纳大量劳动力。[2]

2025年3月印发的《龙尾镇农村人居环境整治实施方案》以“六治”为重点，即治污、治水、治厕、治乱、治绿、治风，并设镇、村、社三级的环卫网格，分片包干。[6]

荣誉[edit]

2024年3月，「2023年广东省卫生乡镇」称号授予龙尾镇。[1]
