尖山村是玉滘镇东南部的行政村，包括尖山、院前两个自然村，背靠梅岗山脉，前临枫江。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村始建于明朝永乐年间（1403年至1424年）。聚落倚靠梅岗山的一座尖峰，村因此得名尖山村。[2]

据博雅地名网所载，镇中只有此村被称为革命老区。1993年，揭东县人民政府作出批复，认定该村为解放战争游击根据地。[2]

荣誉[edit]

1958年，村文化站获评省文化标兵站。2007、2008年度，村获县委县政府授予文明单位称号，2008年又被县委评为先进基层党组织。2009年，揭阳市精神文明建设委员会办公室授予该村「和谐文明村」称号。[2]
