东阳社区是东阳街道下辖的社区，社区范围分布在街道的不同地段，粤东贸易广场、协泰小区，以及揭阳火车站和有线电视台的宿舍区，都在其列。社区共373户、1674人。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

博雅地名网的社区页写明，东阳居委是1999年经东山区管委会批准设立的；同一页的历史沿革栏则记为1994年成立，沿用至今。百度百科亦载1999年经东山区管委会批准设立。两说并存，本条两处均予记载。[1][3]

经济[edit]

社区的收入来源，一是区财政的差额拨款，二是办事处的财政补助。社区组建的治调队伍在粤东贸易广场设立了管理点，此后广场的治安、市场秩序、卫生与计生工作都理顺了。另一面，社区借助区位条件招商，「揭阳市榕捷货运站」以及不锈钢、塑料、化工类企业陆续入驻。[1][2]
