东阳街道是广东省揭阳市榕城区下辖的街道，位于榕城区西北部，西临榕江北河，西北和东北与揭东区的锡场镇、埔田镇接壤。街道于1994年6月设立，第七次全国人口普查时人口为2.86万人。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

东阳街道原属揭阳县榕城区东山街道的范围。博雅地名网解释地名来历：取自东山街道的“东”字，又因辖区在黄岐山以南，山南水北谓之“炎阳”，于是称东阳。[2]

东阳街道于1994年6月29日设置，隶属榕城区。[2]

地理环境[edit]

东邻东升街道，南与东兴街道相邻，西面临榕江北河，西北、东北则与揭东区的锡场镇、埔田镇相接。辖区面积11.38平方千米，博雅地名网另记约11.5平方千米。[1][3]

辖区内东山社区坐落在黄岐山南麓，营前社区位于黄歧山森林公园西侧。[4][5]

第七次全国人口普查结果于2021年6月公布，东阳街道人口为2.86万人，在榕城区各街道乡镇中排第9位。[2]

街道介绍发布于2021年11月，其中提到辖区非农人口1614人，户籍人口约2.7万人，而常住人口为4万多人。[1]

经济[edit]

据街道介绍，2015年辖区共有规模以上工业企业22家，限上商业单位12家；全社会固定资产投资为89900万元。[1][3]

当年限上商业销售额为18.43亿元，规上工业产值则为13.37亿元。[1][3]

工业以塑料化工与不锈钢制品为支柱，流通领域以批发市场和物流为主，农业以生态农业为主。揭阳岭南茶文化街已全面完工，街道介绍称茶业经济产值超2亿元。[1]

教育与医疗[edit]

东山中学是榕江北部仅有的一所公办高中（据街道介绍）。辖区另有中学3所、小学5所。2015年在校学生共5370人，学龄前儿童几乎全部入学，入学率接近100%。[1]

医疗方面，东阳社区设有医疗服务中心，社区卫生站等机构也已设立。2015年居民医保参保率接近100%。[1]

文化[edit]

潮剧团和锣鼓乐队是东山社区、山东围社区的民间文艺力量。新阳社区的芒花扫制作工艺2008年经评定获「市非物质文化遗产」荣誉称号，街道介绍也载其列入非物质文化遗产名录。[1][6]

名胜古迹[edit]

崇光岩在辖区内，原名松岗岩。巨石覆盖形成石洞，洞口与洞内崖壁留有题刻，其中一处为民国二十三年揭阳县政府布告。经多次重修，现已成为市区佛教旅游胜地。[1]

百度百科称，崇光岩位于黄岐山西麓，始建于唐代。[7]
