潭头村是潮安区归湖镇下辖的行政村，位于镇驻地西北约2.2华里处。它南面与金舟村隔江相对，西面隔韩江与绿竹村相望，北面一直延伸到码头石山。村域面积1.92平方公里。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1999年，潭头改称潭头村民委员会，名称沿用至今。[1]

姓氏宗族[edit]

村里有蔡、陈、林、吴四姓。蔡姓于明永乐八年（1410年）由澄海北门迁来定居；陈姓于明万历年间由澄海南门迁来；林姓在清乾隆年间落户，吴姓则在清道光年间由月潭迁来。[1]

江厝为江姓聚居处，分两支：一支从文祠赤水江迁来，一支从丰顺南坑江迁来。洪厝埔的居民有陈、吴、蔡、戴四姓，是1960年凤凰水库决口之后，先后从潭头迁来的。[1]

经济[edit]

2021年9月，潭头村列入广东省农业农村厅公布的第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单，产业为贡柑。[1]
