历史沿革[edit]
1949年称潭头乡；1953年曾与中东合并为中东乡，1958年后分开，称潭头大队；1983年为（小）乡，1987年起为潭头村民委员会，1989年设管理区，1999年4月复设村民委员会至今。[2]
经济[edit]
村里养殖鱼苗、种植脐橙，并靠劳务输出维持收入增长。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
凌风塔建在石正河边的山岗上，百度百科记其始建于清嘉庆元年（1796年），为七层楼阁式砖塔，高31.5米，砖砌叠涩出檐，在平远县现存古塔中保存最完整；2008年11月列为第五批广东省文物保护单位。[3]博雅地名网另引嘉庆十九年（1814年）潭头万安桥碑记，认为建塔不会晚于嘉庆年间，平面为八角形。[1]
