下南村是港口镇东北部的行政村，靠近小榄水道与鸡鸦水道的汇合处，属于中山市「五乡联围」最靠前的一段，村内水网纵横。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

2001年5月，五个自然村（公平、惠民、横河、前进、前卫）并为一体，调整设立下南行政村，并设立村民委员会。[2][4]

地名由来[edit]

村子地处大南围，按上、中、下排列，此处为下，村委会驻地也在此，因而得名下南。[5]

地理环境[edit]

村中建有小公园，另有休憩处10个与篮球场6个。河涌总长32公里，设水闸6座，其中3座已经重建，另有农桥47座。辖区面积约15.11平方千米，属中山市农田保护区。[2][3]

人口民族[edit]

户籍人口9404人，合计1891户（截至2023年12月），外来人口约1000人。村下设46个村民小组。[2][3]

经济[edit]

村里的产业以现代水产养殖与种植为主，此外也有一些工业企业。2023年，全村集体经济收入合计约507.22万元，46个村民小组的经济总收入合计约2865.39万元。[2]

百度百科记载，下南村已创建为市级美丽宜居示范村，《中山市港口镇下南村村庄规划（2022-2035）》已获批实施。[3]

社会事业[edit]

村党群服务中心占地2655平方米，设「一厅五室」，另有新时代文明实践中心和退役军人之家。服务窗口包括卫健、社会保障、户籍和纠纷调解。村党委下设党支部37个，覆盖46个村民小组，有党员271名。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，下南村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。2022年10月，省农业农村部门将下南村认定为「2022年广东省一村一品、一镇一业专业村」（水产养殖）。[1]
