城东社区是广东省中山市火炬开发区（中山港街道）下辖的社区，位于开发区东南部，面积13平方千米。名称来自它在街道城区东侧的位置。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

早在1960年，这片地方还叫小隐公社。1963年，小隐一带分出独立的大队；1974年前后，海旁与义学各自设起大队。1985年，小隐又与海旁、义学、二洲、灰炉并成一乡。1987年各村恢复自设村委会，两年后改为管理区，1999年再次设村委会。[1]

2002年，六个自然村——小隐、义学、海旁、灰炉、大环与二洲——合并组建城东村委会。2007年，它改为城东居民委员会，并一直沿用到现在。[1]

人口与分区[edit]

博雅地名网记，社区的户籍居民为8100多人，常住的则有2万多人，辖区内有大环、小隐、海傍、义学、二洲、灰炉六个开放式小区，并有君华新城等大型封闭式小区。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2015年3月，社区受司法部、民政部表彰，列为第六批全国民主法治示范村（社区）。[1]

2022年9月，社区被认定为「2022年度第一批中山市绿色社区」；同年11月，被确定为「2021年度全国综合减灾示范社区」。[1]
