大迳村位于镇东南部，距镇政府约15千米，面积11.8平方千米，下辖石马、大迳、屋尾、岗头、古村、汪潭六个村民小组。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村子朝西而建，后面是大岭山，南侧靠近大头平山。遇上大雨，山洪突然涌下，溪涧化为河涌，村名起初作「大涧」，后称大迳。2005年设立大迳社区居委会。[1]

居民与语言[edit]

世居村民为汉族客家人，讲客家方言。2020年时，户籍人口为三千五百多，流动人口约四千。[1]

农业[edit]

传统以农业为主，种植荔枝、龙眼等。2020年，村子入选首批广东省「一村一品」专业村（荔枝）。[1]
