大迳社区坐落在厚街东部，与大岭山镇接壤，面积11.8平方千米，下辖六个村民小组。[1][2]

地名与居民[edit]

相传明朝时此地立村。因山洪骤至，山间溪水变成河涌，地名初称「大涧」，后改称「大迳」。社区以李姓为主，黄、彭等姓次之，居民多为客家人，讲客家话。[1]

革命历史[edit]

大迳是传统的革命老区。1926年初，党组织派李成章回到大迳石马村，建立中共石马支部，并组织农民协会与农民自卫军。社区网页说，此事是中央农民部派出共产党员李成章与吴元庆回乡；博雅地名网则说是中共广东党组织派李成章返回，两处所载派出机关不同。[1][3]

社区网页称，厚街有五百多人投身革命，其中一百五十多位烈士为新中国成立奉献了生命；博雅地名网的镇页则称，全镇经认定的烈士有140多名，两处人数不同。[1][3]

1940年11月，驻厚街、桥头的日军与广东人民抗日游击队第三大队在汪潭村一带激战四小时，此战史称黄潭战斗，遗址在大迳村。[3]

农业[edit]

大迳盛产荔枝，2010年所产桂味在东莞市首届优质荔枝评比中获金荔第一名。2011年，社区成立了厚街首个荔枝专业合作社和茶叶专业合作社，实行统一管理与统一销售。[1]
