莫屋村地处企石镇的中心，邻接石排镇的沙角村。全村约0.97平方千米，本村人口1270人，另有约1500名外来人口。[1]

九十年代以来，村里借镇中心的地理优势，一面外出招商、以商引商，一面通过中介牵线引进企业，陆续办起玩具、五金、石材、制衣和木板的企业。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1951年，莫屋属民主乡，归铁炉坑管辖；1958年9月并入人民公社，划归企石营部。1989年7月，村从企石管理区划出，单设莫屋管理区；1999年7月，改设莫屋村委会。[1]
