上元村是东莞市茶山镇下辖的行政村，位于镇域西南部，茶山大道与新石大路穿村而过。全村辖区面积5.12平方千米，下辖4个村民小组。[1][2]

村内设有茶山国际布料物流市场，还有美康居建材装饰城与泽景水果批发市场等专业市场，工业经济与商贸物流是村里的主要产业。2023年，村组两级的总收入是3896万元，增幅为1.2%；纯收入为3322.9万元，增幅为1.5%。[1]

上元村也在推进“工改工”项目，并发展生态科技农业。[1]

村里建成上元稻田公园，集生态保护、休闲观光与科普教育于一体。上元村还承担茶山镇第一个城市更新试点。[1]
