沙岗村位于英德市下太镇北部，东与上太村相接，北面与大站镇的侧塘毗连，西面紧邻下太社区，英太公路穿村而过。全村辖22个自然村，共有2412人（博雅地名网，未注年份）。[1]

地名[edit]

一带多是含石英砂的山岗，故名沙岗。[1]

沿革[edit]

这一带在1958年成为沙岗大队；此后历经乡政府、村委会与管理区等阶段，1998年10月7日重新组建为村委会，沿用至今。[4]

资源与产业[edit]

村内藏有大量石英砂矿，当地兴办石英砂加工厂，产品销往广州及珠三角的陶瓷厂。[2]

上世纪三十年代建设的沙岗林场有林地三千多亩，以杉木、湿地松为主，是村集体收入的重要来源。[2]

荣誉[edit]

广东省爱卫会于2023年5月授予下围村「2022年广东省卫生村」称号，下围属沙岗村。[1]

2019年9月，沙岗村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]

规划定位[edit]

《英德市下太镇乡村振兴规划（2022-2035年）》把沙岗村列为集聚提升类村庄，并以百合种植基地作为特色农业基地之一。[3]
