地名由来[edit]

明代成化年间（约1465年至1487年），袁姓人家在长满菖蒲的沼泽边立村，起初名为菖沼村。1951年，村子自三甲下乡划出，设立大新乡。土改工作队的干部不喜「菖蒲」之名，便以乡内的大车垌为名，改称大新。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此后的1983年转设乡政府，1986年组建村委会，1989年归入管理区。1999年2月6日，阳春市政府依批示设立大新村委会，此名延续至今。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年12月，大新村委会辖下的新朗村获列入「2021年度阳江市卫生村」名单。[1]
