历史沿革[edit]

清代，刘姓族人在古城址内建起旧县村，当时此地归曲江乡所管。[1]

1958年，中心村自三圩大队分出，另设中心大队。此后1983年转设乡政府，1986年组建村委会，1989年归入管理区。1999年2月6日，阳春市政府依批示设立中心村委会，此名延续至今。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2026年3月，中心村被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]

2023年10月，中心村辖下的瓦塘村获列入「2023年度阳江市卫生村」名单。2019年9月，中心村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
