西一村位于阳西县程村镇境内，村名来自村委会所在的方位：它在河流西岸，在同类村落中排第一。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年底，此地成立行政村，起初归阳江县六区管辖。1953年划入阳江县十二区，并设西一乡。之后隶属多有变动，程村区、平岗一带的区与公社都曾管辖，1963年才定为程村公社的一部分。[2]

1967年成立西一革命委员会，1980年恢复为生产大队管委会。1983年重设西一乡，1987年换成村委会，1988年归阳西县程村镇；1989年设管理区，1999年9月恢复村委会，至今称谓不变。[2]

文化[edit]

2021年度「阳江市卫生村」名单中有盐灶村、梁屋村、丰香墩村、望高村（2021年12月确定）；2023年度的同名荣誉则授予大石村和寨仔村（2023年10月确定）。[1]
