2021年9月，赤岗村列入第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单，产品为柑桔。[1]

2024年1月，赤岗村获评2023年广东省民主法治示范村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

赤岗在1932年隶属阳江县。1949年，阳江县恢复区乡县的区划；同年11月撤销保甲制，此地建为行政村。[1]

1957年2月，赤岗改属湾龙乡管理。1959年10月撤乡改建生产大队，归塘坪人民公社。1983年2月撤大队设乡政府，称赤岗乡政府。1987年2月改设赤岗管理区，1999年5月改为村委会。[1]
