莳元村是闸坡镇下辖的行政村，属镇中心区[1][2]。村内有闸坡古炮台遗址[1]。

地名与历史沿革[edit]

村名来自辖区内的莳元自然村[1]。清康熙年间（1662-1722年），戴姓人家由雅韶村迁来，在此建村。1949年11月起，村子以行政村之名出现；1953年设立莳元乡[1]。

名胜古迹[edit]

闸坡古炮台遗址位于莳元村委会炮台山山顶，年代为清代，为第三批阳江市文物保护单位[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，莳元村列入2018年度省级民主法治示范村创建名单；2023年11月，入选广东「百千万工程」首批典型县镇村[1]。
