北极村是闸坡镇下辖的行政村^[1]^[2]。村委会设在北极自然村，村名由此而来^[1]。

历史沿革[edit]

1953年，北极以北极乡之名设立，属十一区。1958年间并入英雄公社，成为北极管理区；次年撤管理区，设北极大队管委会，同年10月又归海陵人民公社^[1]。

2021年9月，北极村列入广东省农业农村厅公布的第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单，主打产品为海陵珍珠马蹄^[1]。
