「麻礼」一词据称源自古代俚越人的语言，含义与驻守兵丁的寨堡有关。该村的行政建制可追溯到1953年设立的麻礼乡[1]。

村里试养蓝翅小水鸭，发展「一村一品」特色农业，并引进了总投资8亿元的中草药基地项目[1]。村中还有「山海经大观园」花海项目和民宿等文旅项目[1]。

荣誉[edit]

2021年，该村入选省级民主法治示范村创建名单，同年还是乡村治理示范村的创建单位[1]。
