双江镇是广东省河源市东源县下辖的镇，位于县境西北部，濒临新丰江水库。镇域东邻灯塔镇，南连新港镇，西接锡场镇，北与涧头镇相邻，镇政府驻双江墟。^[1]^[4]

镇内村级单位共十二个：十一个为行政村，另有一个社区，即双江社区。镇的建制始于1994年初，由双江乡改设而来。^[3]^[4]

双江镇属新丰江库区，以西瓜等农产品见长，2021年入选广东省第三批“一村一品、一镇一业”专业镇。^[5]^[1]

历史沿革[edit]

“双江”之名来自境内一处地方：大路下的小溪与新坑小溪在此汇合，取两条溪流合在一起的意思，故称双江。^[1]

清代，今镇域属河源县永顺都蔡庄约。民国年间，该地先后隶属河源县第四区、第一区的桥头乡；1949年6月改属河源县人民政府第三区（灯塔）的双江乡。^[3]

1953年该地改归第四区，1957年又归桥头乡管辖，乡址设于桥头圩。1958年9月并入灯塔公社；1961年7月，双江人民公社自灯塔公社分出。^[3]

此后建制几经更迭：1983年11月成立双江区，三年余后改称双江乡；这段时间里，隶属关系又在1988年（河源市郊区）和1993年（东源县）两度变动，到1994年初才完成向镇的改设。^[3]

2004年时，博雅地名网记该镇为14个行政村加1个居委会。如今县政府网站列出的村级单位则有11个行政村，外加双江社区；该社区居委会于2002年获县政府批准设立。^[1]^[4]

双江镇处在新丰江水库的库边，属新丰江库区镇。^[5]

面积的记载并不一致：县政府2010年的乡镇介绍作122.1平方公里，县政府网站现行区划页作121.29平方千米，博雅地名网作145.5平方公里（均未注明统计时点）。^[5]^[4]^[1]

境内山林约1.13万公顷，耕地约900公顷（县政府2010年的乡镇介绍）。该介绍还提到林业、水产与矿产都有一定基础，矿藏以石灰石和稀土为主。^[5]

2010年，全镇有3867户，总人口15453人，其中男性7858人，女性7595人。^[5]
