历史沿革[edit]

民国20年（1931年）此地称上浰乡，黄田村当时也在其中[1]。1951年改属正排乡，1958年称新街大队，1984年至1986年称新街乡。1990年至1998年改为新街管理区，1999年设立新街村村民委员会[1]。

文化[edit]

新街村在2023年5月获省爱卫会颁发的2022年度广东省卫生村荣誉[1]。2025年5月，该村获得和平县2022年度文明村镇的称号[1]。

经济[edit]

该村以油茶为产业特色。2021年9月，它被列入广东省农业农村厅公布的第二批“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村名单[1]。
