下楼村是上坪镇的一个行政村，与布联村、西坪村、新陂村等相邻。[1]

地名由来[edit]

1960年以后，本村与西坪分作两村。西坪在上方另有一处楼角，本村在下方也有一处楼角，故名下楼。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年，西南一带分为布联与新华两处。1960年新华又分为西坪村和小楼村，此为本村页面的记载，与西坪村页面所记年份有出入。1984年设下楼乡，1988年改为下楼管理区，1999年设下楼村委会。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，村庄上榜「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单；2020年8月，列入首批广东省「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单（鹰嘴蜜桃）；2024年3月，获「2023年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
