名称来历[edit]

据传，村子周围曾有36口塘，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村于1958年成立大队，1983年撤大队建乡，1986年设为村委会，1989年改管理区，1999年重设村委会。2004年，经县政府批准，石塘村委会并入周塘村委会。[1]
