名称来历[edit]
清朝年间，一条大河从村边流过，后来河道变迁，河水干涸，只剩下洼地积成的池塘，村名由此而来。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年设塘江村，其后数年间改为管理区，又变为大队；1976年另立荷塘大队，1983年改成塘江乡，1986年设村委会，1989年改管理区，1999年重设村委会。2004年，经县政府批准，荷塘村委会并入塘江村委会。[1]
经济[edit]
环霍山示范带建设中，塘江村以荷花观赏、摄影和写生为主题，发展荷花休闲生态农业，2020年挂牌成立「广东龙川霍山·荷塘摄影创作基地」。[3]
荣誉[edit]
2024年3月，村被评为2023年度广东省卫生村。[1]
