旺田村在紫市镇辖内，是村庄性质的行政村。此地大部分田地为红壤，不宜耕种，于是取名“旺田”，盼望兴旺发达。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1953年，此地设旺田乡，隶属雅寄乡；1958年改为鹤市公社下的旺田大队；1976年归紫市公社。[1]1984年社改区，又设旺田乡；1987年改为村委会，1989年设管理区，1999年重设村委会。[1]

近年情况[edit]

2019年9月，旺田村被列为2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位之一。[1]

2023年，镇内削坡建房的新增对象中，旺田村有一户定为中高风险，已采取管护与警示措施，整治工作也已完成。[2]
