民乐西村是紫市镇的行政村之一。建国初设乡政府时，此地山清水秀、河流交错、民风淳朴，后分为东西两村，因其在西边而称民乐西村。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
民乐小乡设立于1952年7月，那时龙川县正划区并乡。1976年11月公社规模调整，民乐小乡的地域被分给民乐、船亨、博丰、嶂红四个大队。[3]
1980年11月，区公所体制下形成民乐东、民乐西两乡。1984年社改区，增新、船亨、嶂红三个大队并为民乐西乡；1986年设村委会，1989年分设增新、船亨、嶂红三个管理区。[3]
1999年三地各设村委会；2004年，龙川县人民政府批准增新、船亨、嶂红的村委会并入民乐西村委会。[3]
荣誉与近年情况[edit]
2021年4月，民乐西村被评为「2020年度龙川县文明村镇」。[1]
2023年，镇政府报告称民乐西村已达到年度预计的最高村集体收入。[2]
