富坑村原叫芋坑，土地肥沃，适合种香芋；客家话里「芋」与「富」同音，后来改为富坑。[1] 该村两度进入省级名单：2019年9月是「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位，2023年5月又获省爱卫会授予「2022年广东省卫生村」。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
民国18年（1929年）设有富坑乡，当时属第三区；1952年5月再设乡，改属第二区。公社化后为富坑大队，1961年一分为二（富田、富上），1963年复合为一。1983年起改称乡，1987年村委会，1989年底管理区，1999年重回村委会。[1]
