地名由来[edit]
义容河自北向南经过这里，古竹去义容、县城的人要在此渡河，两岸又地势平坦，村名因此而来。[1]
建置沿革[edit]
1952年立平渡乡，属古竹镇；1957年底一度设平度乡，当时紫金县共有二十九个乡（镇），平度为其一，次年5月撤销，归入古竹乡。同年10月，成立平渡生产大队。1961年公社体制下放，大队拆为上坑、乌泥塘、竹径、三丫塘、坪桥五个，1963年再合并。1983年起称平度乡，1987年改称平渡村委会，1998年定为村委会，沿用至今。[2]
荣誉[edit]
2023年4月，平渡村在「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单之列。[1]
