湖东林场是汕尾市林业局直属的国有林场，位于陆丰市东南部湖东镇境内，东、南面向南海，西邻碣石镇，因所在的湖东镇而得名。[1]面积11.4平方千米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

林场建于1958年2月。它最初归汕头专区，1983年转到惠阳专区，1988年才改由汕尾市管辖。[1]

地理环境[edit]

林场南临南海，海岸线15公里，林场的经营面积为1.73万亩，林种偏重防护林与用材林，栽的树以木麻黄、湿地松居多。[1]2013年强台风“天兔”使沿海防护林带严重受损，灾后修复了34公里基干林带。[1]

经营[edit]

林场下设三个机构：办公室、生态修复管理部和森林资源管理部。[2]
