横美村临近鳌江河，位于陆甲大道北侧，村内以农业和果林种植为主，兼营养殖。村的沿革始于1952年，1976年自客楼大队分出，另立横美大队。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1952年，此地归第八区（两城区）。1958年起隶甲子镇，编在客楼大队之内；1976年自该大队分出，另立横美大队。[1] 1987年改设横美村委会，隶甲西乡；1994年转为管理区，1999年复为村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

广东省爱卫会于2023年5月命名横美村为「2022年广东省卫生村」。[1]
