渔池村濒临鳌江下游，在甲西镇西南侧接近惠来县界，距甲西镇府约4千米，村民以种粮、种菜和养殖为生。村的沿革可追溯到解放初期的甲子门一带。广东省爱卫会于2020年12月命名渔池村为「2020年广东省卫生村」。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
解放初期，此地隶属惠州府石磐都甲子门，设甲子区公所。[1] 1949年成立渔池乡，归第八区（两城区）。[1] 1961年并入政坑、淡政、林边村及甲子镇东方村，组成渔池大队，隶甲子公社。[1] 1974年，渔池大队分出政坑、林边、淡政三村。[1] 1983年再设渔池乡，划入甲西区；1987年为村委会，隶甲西乡。[1] 1994年转为管理区，归甲西镇；1999年又改回村委会。[1]
荣誉[edit]
广东省爱卫会于2020年12月命名渔池村为「2020年广东省卫生村」。[1] 2019年9月，渔池村入选「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
