天湖村位于省道陆甲公路北侧，是甲西镇的行政村，距镇府约11千米，属丘陵地带，以水稻种植和养殖为主。村史始于元末明初，蔡姓先祖自福建迁来建村。广东省爱卫会于2023年5月授予该村「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

元末明初（1359至1378年间），蔡姓先祖自福建迁来，开村立业；此后陈、张、吴、方四姓相继迁入，最终合为一村。[1] 1961年划为天湖大队，1983年并入天池乡。[1] 1987年为村委会，1994年转为管理区，1999年又改回村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

广东省爱卫会于2023年5月授予天湖村「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
