新饶村是甲西镇的行政村，位于陆甲公路南侧，属丘陵地带，以农业为主。村名由来与清代的开村有关。2026年1月，新饶村获评广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村子创建于清康熙四十五年（1706年）。最初蔡姓先人在此定居，此后郭、胡二姓相继迁来聚居，发展成为较大的村落。[1] 1952年设新饶乡，归第八区（两城区）；1958年成为新饶大队，隶甲西公社。[1] 1983年再设新饶乡，隶甲西区；1987年为村委会，隶甲西乡。[1] 1994年转为管理区，归甲西镇；1999年改回村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2026年1月，新饶村获评广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村。[1] 新饶村在2022年1月被广东省乡村振兴局列为2021年乡村治理示范村的创建单位。[1] 广东省爱卫会于2020年12月命名新饶村为「2020年广东省卫生村」。[1]
