博社村位于甲西镇西南部，离镇政府约6千米，以农业为主，兼营养殖和外出务工。村内蔡氏家祠的“源远堂”“承启堂”，经认定为陆丰市指定文物保护单位。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

建国后先设博华乡，归第八区（两城区）。[1] 1958年改为博社大队，隶甲西公社；1966年一度叫爱社大队，1979年恢复原名博社大队。[1] 1983年设博社乡，隶甲西区；1987年为村委会，隶甲西乡。[1] 1994年转为管理区，1999年又改回村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，凭借麒麟西瓜产业，博社村获农业农村部认定为全国一村一品示范（第九批）。[1] 广东省爱卫会于2020年12月命名博社村为「2020年广东省卫生村」。[1] 2023年4月，博社村在「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位名单之列。[1]
