前边村在陆丰市甲东镇半岛东北，靠近惠来县界，面积10平方千米，辖前边、山前2个自然村、6个村民小组，距镇政府3千米。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

前边村建于明洪武年间。土地改革时，前边、山前、后洋、上湖东、下湖东5村合设前边乡，属第八区（两城区）；1958年，后洋析出，前边与山前、上湖东、下湖东四村另组前边大队，归甲东公社；1976年4月又析出上湖东、下湖东，只剩前边、山前2个自然村；1983年称前边乡，属甲东区；1987年改村委会，隶甲东镇；1994年称管理区，1999年复称村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

村民种水稻、萝卜、淮山、花生等，博雅地名网称它是纯农村庄，集体经济较弱。2020年8月，前边村（番薯）列入广东省农业农村厅公布的首批“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村。[1]

荣誉[edit]

前边村列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」（2019年9月公布）；2020年12月，获2020年广东省卫生村称号。[1]
