博美社区是广东省汕尾市陆丰市博美镇镇区所在的社区，位于陆丰城区以东约15公里、广汕公路两侧，博美镇人民政府驻此。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
据当地说法，说法是南宋时已有聚落，因位于交通要冲，又傍内海岸边，逐渐形成市集；清朝称坣尾市，建国之初按谐音改作“博美”，寓意宽广美好。[1]
1990年之前，镇区分成居民区和农村大队两块；两者当年合并，成立博美管理区，1999年改作居委会，再到2002年冠以“社区”二字，名称延续至今。[1]
经济[edit]
社区下设九个居民小组，据博雅地名网记录总人口18760人。居民多做商业、服务业和建筑；务农者种粮、种菜、种果。这里是陆丰东部的商品集散地，蔬菜专业市场的货销往广东各地。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2020年8月，博美社区以桂味荔枝列入首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村名单；2021年12月又拿到省爱卫会的「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
