高美村在城东街道东部，与水墘村、双寨村相邻，以竹笋和茶叶种植见长。[1]

村民小组共8个（一村、二村、新乡、后乡、西村、东村、莲林、莲池），1900多户，总人口9500多；土地面积1794.7公顷，党员191人。竹笋基地逾千亩，茶园有1500多亩，二者年产值合计将近3000万元。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，明洪武年间有人来此捕虾耕作，搭草寮而居，后来陈姓从邻近村落迁入聚居；吴、洪、翁等姓陆续外迁，成了陈姓单姓村。清雍正九年（1731年）陆丰置县，称坊廓都五图高美栅村。[2]

荣誉[edit]

省农业农村厅在2020年8月评出首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村，高美村凭茶叶名列其中。2021年12月，省爱卫会授予其广东省卫生村称号（2021年度）。次年1月，省乡村振兴局把它列为乡村治理示范村的创建单位。[2]
