墩塘村在水唇镇北部，共有10个自然村，包括墩仔寨、老屋家、坪山富、博背、护竹步、白石塘、鲤鱼山、上垸坝，以及下塘与上中塘。[1]村内的墩仔寨是一座清初建成的客家围龙屋，为汕尾市文物保护单位。[2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立后，墩仔寨同上、中、下塘并成墩塘高级社，1958年改叫墩塘大队。之后经乡人民政府（1984年3月）、村委会（1986年）、管理区（1990年）几次改名，1999年起称墩塘村民委员会。[2]

人口与经济[edit]

镇政府网站载，全村面积约11平方千米，998户6098人，常住人口2100人。[1]博雅地名网引述的旧资料称面积约30平方千米，距县城18公里。[2]村民种水稻、花生，养鱼、鸡、猪；村里引进过一家幼童用品厂以增加集体收入。[2]2019年9月，墩塘村列入2018年「广东省‘民主法治示范村（社区）’创建单位」。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

墩仔寨围龙屋建在龟背形的小山包上，清顺治十七年（1660年）起建，平面呈椭圆，有东、西两门，西门匾额为“川岳钟秀”，东门匾额为“迎龙门”，落款乾隆十三年。围屋占地7200平方米，房间200多间。2012年9月，它所在的村落被列入广东省古村落抢救工程，同年11月在“广东十大最美古村落”评选中获“最具建筑特色村落”。[3]
