南跃村在水唇镇东南部，东邻普宁市，北接揭西县，是陆河县最靠东的山村之一。[2][3]观天嶂的一部分在村境内，山中有清霞寺、彩霞洞。[3]镇政府网站称全村面积约13平方千米，下辖9个自然村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

南跃起初是南进大队的一部分，1974年才独立为大队。此后经历了乡、村委会、管理区几个阶段（村委会始于1986年，管理区始于1990年），1999年起定称南跃村民委员会。[2]

地理与人口[edit]

村子在莲花山脉一带，位置约在东经115度46分、北纬23度20分。[2]镇政府网站载，村内有394户2337人，常住约1000人；9个自然村有庆和、半嶂、许岭、坪水、石垅、坎下、上肚、培坪与大竹园。[1]博雅地名网另载面积约9.5平方千米，耕地1300多亩、林地16000多亩。[2]

经济[edit]

粮食作物为水稻、地瓜，养殖山地鸡和猪，水果有青梅、香蕉。[3]2020年8月，南跃村以茶叶入选首批「广东省“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」；2019年12月入选「第一批国家森林乡村」。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

观天嶂素有“一山藏三寺”的说法，村里正在整修清霞寺、彩霞洞，作为乡村旅游的内容。[3]
