赤山村是汕尾市海丰县城东镇的行政村，是海丰农民运动早期的根据地之一，村内有明代赤山塔。[1]

概况[edit]

村庄处在丘陵地带，田多为砂质浅土，耕地约2000亩，山林500多亩，果木150多亩，七普常住人口2000多人，辖溪围、池坣、上舖、下舖等12个自然村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

赤山在1950年成乡，1958年改大队，1961年曾单独建赤山公社，1963年并入海城公社，1974年又转属城东公社；1980年代起经乡、村委会、管理区再回到村委会。[2]

文化[edit]

村材料记：民国10年（1921年）彭湃到赤山，在海仔地藏庙宣传农运，组织赤山约农会，黄妈岁任会长；1928年2月14日国民党军屠村，128人遇难；1945年1月成立抗日救乡队，2月设中共交通站，黄贡为首任站长。[1] 1957年县政府建赤山人民礼堂，1992年拨款重建，汕尾市委书记彭禹贤题写匾额。[1]

村内有明代赤山塔、古井和清代地藏庙。赤山塔为七层八角实心塔，1630年叶维菱建。[1][3]

经济[edit]

番石榴是赤山的特色产业，2020年8月赤山村入选广东省首批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村；2021年12月被授予广东省卫生村；2022年1月列入省乡村治理示范村创建单位。[2]
