东园村是汕尾市海丰县城东镇北部的行政村，北面与公平镇交界，西侧有竹仔坑水库。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1973年以前归台东大队；1974年建城东公社时，从台东划出东桥（旧称梨木桥村）、屯仔、陈园、蕉坑仔4个自然村，另立东园大队。[1] 博雅地名网记，大队设于1967年前后，1984年称东园乡，1987年为村委会，1998年复称村委会。[2]
经济[edit]
早先种稻、番薯、蔬菜，部分农户烧瓦，1974年设东园瓦厂。近年金庄电器、三阳饰品等县重点项目在村内落户，省道242线改造和潮惠高速建设也带来机遇。七普常住人口600多人。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
村内留有永安桥、梨木桥等古驿道遗迹；塌尾湖在大革命时期是农民运动根据地。[1] 2021年12月东园村获广东省卫生村称号。[2]
