新寮村在梅陇镇区南面，距镇区约5公里，面积约2.3平方千米，2010年总人口约2717人，产稻谷、莲藕、番薯，兼营浅海捕捞和家禽养殖。[1] 官方名单共列3个自然村，即新清、唐皇、新寮。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，清康熙年间，福建莆田县的黄姓人建立新寮村。1950年属第四区鲘门石南乡，1953年归梅陇区，1958年9月设新寮乡，后改新寮大队；1984年称新寮乡，1987年为新寮村委会，1989年设管理区办事处，1998年复设村委会。[1]

荣誉与民俗[edit]

新寮村在2019年10月列入广东省卫生村名录；2023年5月获「2022年广东省卫生村」称号。[1] 村周边河网密布，端午有龙舟竞渡的习俗，2023年6月22日在淋头陂大溪办过邀请赛，周边30支队伍报名。[3]
