北塘村在梅州市兴宁市叶塘镇境内，是镇属的行政村。[1]

名称与沿革[edit]

据博雅地名网，这里过去有一口占地数百亩的大塘，出产鲫鱼，叫「鳖塘」，写起来不便，改写成北塘。[1]

新中国成立后先分东堤、西堤两部分；1957年东堤、西堤与大众、同众合并，成立北塘乡政府；1958年撤乡设北塘大队；1993年设北塘乡，后又改管理区；1999年称村民委员会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

  • 广东省乡村振兴局在2022年1月确定该村为2021年度广东省乡村治理示范村的创建单位。[1]
  • 广东省爱卫会在2021年12月评定该村为当年的广东省卫生村。[1]
