王村的名称来自旧时村中的王、孙两姓，曾叫「王孙」；后来曾姓从相子瓦仓前迁来上村，各姓人口渐多，改称王村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1958年设上王村、中王村、下王村三个大队，1987年合并为王村管理区，1999年改称王村村民委员会。[1]2019年9月，王村被列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
